edgings into garlands for our Christmas tree lately. \u00c2\u00a0I started with it back in November when I got to thinking that if I tatted up one new garland each year that in 30 years our Christmas tree would look pretty awesome. \u00c2\u00a0I thought it&#8217;d be neat to have an on going project throughout the year to work on, but I&#8217;ve sort of been obsessed with finishing them lately.<\/p>\n<p>I finished the two early this month and have now started two new ones. \u00c2\u00a0Both are based on this pattern from the Priscilla books. \u00c2\u00a0(#1 I think). \u00c2\u00a0This is not the thread I&#8217;m using for the actual garland, this is just what I happened to have already wound CTM that I wanted to finish off. \u00c2\u00a0Originally this pattern was written up as a single shuttle edging done in two passes. \u00c2\u00a0Thanks to the modern magic\u00c2\u00a0of split rings it can also be done in<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1295\" style=\"margin: 10px;\" title=\"Experiment 2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.snapdragonlace.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Experiment-2-300x108.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"108\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.snapdragonlace.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Experiment-2-300x108.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.snapdragonlace.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/Experiment-2-1024x370.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>just a single pass. \u00c2\u00a0I also played\u00c2\u00a0around with the idea of expanding it out so that it\u00c2\u00a0would have 6 points. \u00c2\u00a0I thought that if it were done in white that it would then look like a row of snowflakes. \u00c2\u00a0Not sure that the third one really pulls it off, but I may play around with it some more. \u00c2\u00a0It doesn&#8217;t totally lie flat yet and seems to be a bit too straight on the edges. \u00c2\u00a0Maybe with a different stitch count on the outside rings to make them more pointy. \u00c2\u00a0Tomorrow I&#8217;ll share the pattern and the version of this in all red that
